About this place
Steam curls up from the bowl, parting to reveal a rich broth sealed under a sheen of fragrant oil and tangled with vivid yellow wavy noodles. Satsuhoro's signature miso ramen is built on a creamy tori paitan (white chicken broth) base that marries deep savoriness with a gentle prick of spice, clinging eagerly to the springy noodles supplied by Hokkaido's acclaimed Nishiyama Seimen. Tender chashu pork melts into the broth alongside crisp stir-fried vegetables, delivering a classic northern bowl.
The noodle menu stretches beyond the house standard. Diners can go traditional with miso butter corn ramen, opt for a vegetable-loaded miso ramen piled high with greens, or brave the fiery Jigoku (hell) miso ramen. A distinct draw here is the lineup of hearty rice bowls to accompany the noodles, including a mini salmon and ikura oyako-don as well as a generous Tokachi pork rice bowl. Alongside draft Sapporo Black Label beer, regional soft drinks like Guarana and Ribbon Orange round out the northern table.
The dining room offers a relaxed setup of counter seats and tables, operating on a ticket-vending machine by the entrance. Because the machine accepts cash only, having notes or coins ready ensures smooth ordering. Diners ordering noodles are also treated to an ice pop at the end of the meal—a thoughtful touch that clears the palate after a piping-hot bowl.
